Example workflows

Playbooks that combine Onboard MCP with human review for leadership, launches, and follow-ups.

Playbooks with human review

MCP

Templates for internal runbooks: aggregate with MCP, decide in Onboard, and communicate after policy checks.

Use these as templates for internal runbooks. Always confirm AI-generated summaries and proposed actions against Onboard before customer-facing use. See Security & permissions (MCP) and the Security checklist.

Leadership review pack

Audience

Executive sponsor or VP Customer Success.

Inputs

Portfolio of active onboardings, health signals, and revenue-at-risk where available.

MCP role

Aggregate “red / yellow / green” style summaries with drill-down links your team can open in Onboard.

Human step

Leadership decides resourcing and escalations; AI does not reassign owners without policy.

Launch coordination

Audience

Implementation manager or onboarding lead.

Inputs

Launch checklist tasks, dependencies, and customer stakeholders.

MCP role

Surface overdue tasks, blocked milestones, and duplicate owners across projects for a single launch window.

Human step

Run the stand-up, update tasks in Onboard, and communicate slip dates to the customer.

Meeting follow-up

Audience

CSM or onboarding specialist.

Inputs

Call notes (sanitized), calendar context, and open tasks for the account.

MCP role

Draft follow-up bullets and suggested tasks with due dates.

Human step

Edit tone, verify facts, then create or update work items in Onboard.

Handoff from AI to automation

When a workflow becomes repetitive (for example “every new customer creates these five tasks”), move it to iPaaS or webhooks and keep MCP for exceptions. See Automation platforms & MCP.
